Friends of the Inkerman
History
The Inkerman or Wasp Nest was originally an industrial area, find out about its history here.
The Friends group orginally formed in 2008 following a suggestion from Chesterfield Borough Council to run a public consultation about improvements to the park. This resulted in several annual events called the 'Inkerman Buzz'. As a result of that the first funding bid by the Friends was for the 'new' playground equipment, secondly for the path resurfacing and extension with drainage work, trees, noticeboard and benches. The Friends have also run litter picks, workshops making wooden toys and birdboxes and an annual Wassail.
