In 2015 my son and I drove to Spa for the 24 hour GT race.
I've been to Spa in the past to watch the 1000km race when Jaguar won and have called there several times when driving past. In those days parts of the track were still public roads so it was easy to pose in front of the pits and dodge the cones to drive up Eau Rouge!
Now all the track has been by passed by public roads but the much longer old track is still driveable through the Masta kink and banked bend at Stavelot.
We camped for the 2015 race and despite being the end of July the temperature went down to 10 degrees and of course it was wet!
Despite the weather we managed to walk round the track a couple of times. Excellent viewing due to the hills.
After the race we went further east into Germany for a night so that my son could do 100mph on an unlimited autobahn!
